Who…
Rachel Hein is a Yorkshire-born photographer who found her heart—and her home—in Edinburgh, where she’s lived since 2003. Now based near Portobello Beach with her family, Rachel has been a professional photographer for 14 years. While she loves creating beautiful images, her true passion lies in connecting with people. Whether she’s working with clients, walking her labrador Finn, or spending time in nature—on her bike, in the hills, or exploring the Pacific Northwest (her second home)—Rachel brings warmth, authenticity, and a deep appreciation for human connection to everything she does.
the Issue
From the client’s view
My old website was built using Divi by Yvette several years ago, after I was introduced to her by another web designer who had created my original branding. At the time, it served me well, but since then, I’d had some new branding done and felt that my photography had really evolved. The site no longer reflected where I was creatively or professionally. Around that time, Yvette had an offer on Kadence-themed websites, and after a chat with her, it felt like the perfect opportunity to refresh everything and bring my online presence up to date. So I decided it was the right moment to make the change.
the Solution
To begin the redesign process, I made a full backup and copy of Rachel’s old Divi website and set it up on a development site. This allowed me to work on the new design behind the scenes while her existing website remained live and fully functional. Rachel had recently updated her branding and felt that her photography had evolved significantly since her original site was built, so it was important that the new design reflected that growth.
With my Kadence website offer running at the time, and after a good chat about her vision, we agreed it was the right moment for a fresh start. The new site was designed to feel more aligned with her refined brand and photographic style—clean, modern, and full of personality, just like Rachel.
Yvette has done a fantastic job on my new website. She has endless reserves of patience and is always happy to take a call or answer an email, going above and beyond on many occasions! I love my new site, thank you so much Yvette!
