Penny Hardie is an experienced Isle of Skye photographer specialising in weddings, elopements, and vacation portraits. With over 15 years behind the camera and eight years living on Skye, she combines local knowledge with a passion for capturing meaningful, beautiful moments. Penny brings skill, warmth, and a relaxed approach to every shoot, creating stunning images and unforgettable experiences in one of Scotland’s most breathtaking locations.
the Issue
From the client’s view
After moving to the Isle of Skye, I had worked with Yvette to create my original branding and website. At the time, it suited where I was in my business, but as my services changed and evolved, the website started to feel a bit muddled. I’d added and removed things over the years, and it got to a point where it just didn’t feel cohesive anymore. It no longer reflected the simplicity, style, or professionalism I wanted to convey. So when Yvette mentioned her new Kadence website offer, it felt like the perfect time to start fresh. I also took the opportunity to simplify my branding, so everything felt clearer, more refined, and more aligned with the direction my business is heading.
the Solution
After a Zoom call to really understand what Penny was looking for, I recommended using one or a combination of my StyleCloud Templates as the foundation for her new website. This approach offered the flexibility and structure she needed, while allowing for semi-customisation to bring in her own personality. I refined the layout with subtle design tweaks to ensure the final result felt unique to her, clean, modern, and easy to navigate, while still capturing the essence of the Isle of Skye. The new site not only looks more cohesive but also functions beautifully, giving Penny a platform that can grow with her business.
For the brand design, Penny was ready for a refresh, something simpler, more refined, and in line with the direction her business was heading. She wanted to move away from anything overly fussy, so I created a handwritten signature logo that felt personal and distinctive, paired with contemporary fonts that gave her brand a more modern edge. We retained the soft, earthy colour palette inspired by the Skye landscape, blues, greys, and muted neutrals, keeping that strong sense of place while giving everything a cleaner, more elevated finish.
I know I can always count on Yvette to produce quality work on time. She does what she says she will and offers help and support when I need it, not when it suits her. I love my website design and feel that it has been created with me, and my customers, in mind.
