Captivate New Clients with Your Website: A Recipe for Success – Why Wedding Photographers Need to Refresh their Webpages. In the competitive world of photography, the power of a captivating website cannot be underestimated. Unfortunately, many photographers tend to overlook the importance of regular website updates. Drawing from my specialisation in enhancing photographers’ websites, it’s evident that wedding photographers, in particular, exhibit a reluctance to breathe new life into their online presence.

While it’s true that they may not be attempting to rekindle a connection with past clients, the allure of their website should extend to every fresh visitor, offering them an engaging visual journey and access to the latest information!

Here are some of the reasons why…

To be competitive

Photographers need to ensure their websites are up to date with the latest technologies and design trends in order to remain competitive in the market.

Attract more customers

A modern website design will be more likely to draw the attention of potential customers and remain memorable, which can lead to more business.

Make it easy to find

A well-designed website with a simple navigation structure will make it easier for potential customers to find you and the services you offer.

Stay current

Updating your website regularly with fresh content helps to keep it current and engaging, and also ensures your images are displayed at their optimal size and resolution.

Boost your SEO

Search engine algorithms are constantly evolving and regularly updating your website with relevant content can help boost your website’s rankings in search results.

The Edge Photography

I recently designed and built a new website for The Edge Photography. During our deep dive call, I asked him about photographs and he said he was satisfied with his existing collection.

However, from my experience as a former photographer, I strongly disagreed; trends in photography are constantly evolving and the imagery on the website should always stay up-to-date for prospective brides visiting the site!

Scott was initially hesitant to submit new images, but after I offered assistance with the resizing and naming of the photos, he realized that updated imagery would make a much stronger impact on his homepage. As soon as he saw the result, he agreed.

Wedding Dresses Change

When a bride is browsing your wedding photography portfolio, her eye will be instantly drawn to what the brides in the photos are wearing.

Your website should therefore always feature current and on-trend wedding dresses—while having a vintage Vera Wang dress in there is certainly chic, outdated designs will quickly make today’s brides look elsewhere!

Seasonal Changes

As a photographer, it’s important to keep in mind that weddings vary with the seasons. Keeping your home page up-to-date is key – feature images from each season so visitors can get an idea of your work all year round!

Consider creating four separate galleries to highlight different seasonal weddings… and don’t forget to showcase different seasons in your blog posts too.

Ready to update your website

Are you ready to make new clients fall in love with your website? Why not book a call it could be the best 30 minutes you invest in your business.
