How to re-link Your Instagram Account
In this blog post, I will show you ‘How to re-link your Instagram Account’ if you are using the Smash Balloon plugin on your website.
If you’ve ever logged into your website and seen the message below displayed on the front end of your website telling you there is an error, you may have assumed that your website is broken?
But is simply that Facebook wants you to re-authorise your website to the Smash Balloon or other plugin that you use for your Instagram feed. The simple steps below will walk you through how to re-link your Instagram account…

Step 1 – Login to your Website, Facebook and Instagram
To do this simply make sure that you are logged into both Facebook and Instagram and then in the ‘Dashboard’ of your website on the left-hand side go to ‘Instagram Feed’ then press Settings

Step 2 – Remove your Instagram Account
Personally, I find that the simplest and quickest way to do it is to disconnect the Instagram account and then re-authorise it, you do this by simply removing your Instagram account from the plugin.

Step 3 – Reconnect your Instagram Account
Once disconnected you then need to reconnect, so click on the ‘Connect your Instagram button’.

You will then need to either select the Personal or Business option? This is determined by the type of Instagram account you have?
You will see two more Facebook windows that you just tick the relevant options in order to reconnect your account.

Step 4 – Clear your cache
Finally, you will want to clear your cache and check the front end of your website.
The good news is, that only you will see this message if your Instagram account becomes disconnected.
