Does my website need a service? If your website is more than a year old the chances are YES your website would benefit from a Service.

I recently booked my car in for a winter service, and whilst it’s not actually due a service until 2023, I know that by having a ‘winter service’ will keep everything running smoothly.

Websites are no different, just like you add fuel to a car along with topping up the oil and water between services… you do your regular updates to the theme, plugins, and WordPress as and when needed.

However, there have been a lot of changes to both WordPress and Divi in the last 12 months and unless you really know Divi like a Pro Web designer then your website is probably not running at its optimum.

And it’s when things aren’t running as they should that things start to go wrong, and the more they go wrong the harder it is to fix! This means it could be more expensive the longer you leave things to just tick along.

SO WHY A WINTER SERVICE FOR WEBSITES?

  • Its a good way to start the year with your website in tip top condition.
  • Many businesses are quieter at the beginning of the year.
  • You know you are starting the New Year with your website is the best condition so there is less chance of it breaking at a time when you are busy.
  • It costs less to do a winter service than it does to fix a broken website or worse build a new one because your website breaks and is not repairable.

  • Updating all plugins, theme, WordPress and check what version of PHP that your website is running on.
  • Replace outdated plugins
  • Check your CSS, as much of it no longer required
  • Check the .htaccess and where required update
  • Optimise the speed – if hosted with me, move to Stackcache for best optimisation
  • Ensure that your Divi Performance settings match your needs
  • Sweep your Database removing anything that is slowing down the performance
