THOUGHTS FOR 2018
It’s hard to believe that we are already half way through January! Yet here we are and December seems so long ago and the Christmas decorations that were occupying my mind last month seem all but a distant memory…
I have spent the best part of January feeling poorly, having worked myself crazy in December with five websites being built and going live and trying to get two more live within the first week of January… in the end, they were both live by the second Friday in January.
So it’s made me think that this year I need to say no more, schedule some me time, and to ignore my husband when I hear him moan about stacking the dishwasher after I have worked all day long and then cooked dinner after he has spent the day watching TV, reading his newspaper or taking a well earned afternoon nap!!! I am going to book an afternoon/evening at Champney’s at Eastwell Manor (5 minutes from my front door) and I am not going to feel guilty about buying one too many Michael Kors handbags, after all, there is nothing wrong with having three Mercer Bags in different colours!
I AM NOT A NEW YEAR RESOLUTION TYPE OF PERSON
I love a new year, it’s like being given a clean slate, a whole 365 days to re-write your life story, it’s a bit like having a new diary with all those lovely clean pages, or a new pen and notebook.
However I hate New Year Resolutions, it’s like setting myself up to fail as I used to break them all by the 2nd January, so instead, I am going to set monthly goals that are achievable and attainable both for my business and personal and each month will include ‘me time’.
Some of the things that I want to do this year are
- Have a better understanding of Instagram and grow my followers
- Facebook advertising and grow my followers there as well
- Become an Influencer
- Blog more, both on Lemonade Design and my Home with Love websites
- Development my Home with Love website to become an interior and lifestyle blog that is engaged with on a weekly and monthly basis
- Take time to spend on my own as well as with family without feeling guilty about it
- Travel more… whether a weekend break to somewhere different in the UK or a long-promised road trip in the USA
- Feel fitter and lose a bit of weight
I hope you enjoyed this post, I would love to hear what you have planned for 2018, so feel free to leave me a comment below.
