I love working with clients who have a clear vision of what they want there website and brand to look like, so when I was approached by Mark from Mark Nortcliffe Photography I knew I was going to have fun translating his ideas into reality. Mark loves the Art Deco period and really want his new website and brand to reflect this era. He was already happy with his logo and certain aspects of his branding, like the penny farthing, but felt that there was still a way to go to get the true feel and look that he was after, so working together through my rapid design service we came up with a brand that Mark feels represents him.
So Marks website has been live now for a few weeks so I thought I would catch up with him to have a chat about him, his work and the process of having a new website...
Wedding and Family Portrait Photographer based in Cambridge. Recently moved from London Mark has quickly settled into Cambridge life building his business within Cambridgeshire and surrounding areas. Living with his partner Chris in a small village to the north of the city ideally situated for motorway link to Norfolk, Suffolk, Bedfordshire, and London Mark has the managed to balance the perfect work/life balance. "Work and family life carry equal importance to me so its critical that I achieved that balance. Therefore I limit the number of weddings I do each year to ensure that I can make that happen". "I know I'm fortunate to be able to do a job I love"
Overall I love the design. It's clean and fresh and easy to navigate. From an owners point of view, of course, it remains work in progress as it should as you refresh new material.
Yvette is very easy to work with and provides expert knowledge and advice along the way. She has a flexible approach to the build and works with you making recommendations throughout the process. Any requests for amends are dealt with quickly. Its been a pleasure and enjoyable experience. Comforting knowing she is always on the end of a phone.
Attracting the right customer through a strong online presence is important but is only the start. Building on that through ongoing referrals means my business will continue to move in the right direction. I don't aim to move the goalposts on numbers of wedding achieved in any one wedding season but continue to target mid to high-end weddings remains my focus. Having a website that will reflect and attract the right client base is vital. With that comes the continual personal development and training. Oh, definitely the need to have all the latest 'must have' gear is a must of course!
Make sure you know what you want and once you have a design set down try and stick to it the best you can. Making changes along the way not only delay the process but dilutes your message. Make your site as unique as possible and speak from the heart when writing text content so your clients get to understand you straight away. Don't underestimate the time involved and set yourself some time out to work with Yvette as the process develops. Put time aside to snag your new site after going live. Think carefully about the time of year you begin your 'redesign' journey and build in the time required to make sure you iron out all the snagging ahead of a busy wedding season.
Thank heavens for people like Yvette. With little or no knowledge of even knowing where to start I enlisted the services of Lemonade Design Co. to develop and build a new website for me. I know how important a strong website that makes people want to stay on your page and to investigate further is vital to gaining future business. Yvette has delivered that and more keeping the 'back end' simple for even a total novice like me to update, change and add to as time goes by. Knowing that the support is ongoing and that Yvette is on the end of the phone or email in the early stages after launch to help you with the simplest of tasks, nothing is too much trouble. Thank you Yvette.
